Position Summary: As a Key/Senior Account Manager with a quantitative/engineering background and expertise in drug discovery and development, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining strong relationships with our clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. You will serve as clients’ primary point of contact, working to understand their unique needs and align our innovative solutions to help them achieve their business objectives. Your strong technical knowledge combined with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills will drive customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and overall account success.
- Develop and execute strategic account plans, encompassing short and long-term goals, to foster business growth and meet revenue targets.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, scientists, and decision-makers, within assigned accounts.
- Understand clients' scientific and business challenges and position our solutions as a means to address their needs effectively.
- Prepare and present sales proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals in collaboration with the sales team.
- Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams, including modelers, biologists, and project managers, to ensure seamless implementation of projects and successful delivery of services.
- Attend and present at conferences and events to keep current on the evolving scientific field and connect with new and existing clients.
- Conduct in-depth account reviews and identify opportunities to expand product and service offerings within existing accounts.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory developments to provide strategic insights and recommend appropriate solutions to clients.
- Provide exceptional customer support and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and efficiently.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in applied biomathematics and related fields to effectively educate and inform clients.
- 5+ years as an Account Executive with proven experience and track record as an Account Manager or a similar role in the life sciences, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical industry or PhD in Biochemistry, Protein Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
- Strong technical understanding of the drug discovery and development process, specifically with biologics a plus.
- Creative approach to finding, developing, and closing new and existing business.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with clients at various organizational levels.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully managing and growing key accounts, achieving sales targets, and driving customer satisfaction.
- Ability to comprehend complex scientific concepts and articulate them in a clear and compelling manner to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think strategically and provide innovative solutions to clients.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented with a passion for staying ahead of industry trends and advancements.
- A willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry conferences or events.
