Jen earned her PhD in biomedical engineering from the University of Southern California in 2018. For her thesis project, she developed a computational mechanistic model of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) activation in engineered T cells and collected quantitative experimental data to train and validate the model. During her studies, she also interned at Genzyme in the manufacturing department, Merrimack Pharmaceuticals in modeling and simulations, and Genentech in clinical pharmacology, developing models to support processes across the drug development pipeline.
